The Huracan STO is the road legal version of Lamborghini's championship winning Super Trofeo race car. STO stands for Super Trofeo Omologata, and the name is literal: Lamborghini took the racer and did the minimum required to make it street legal, rather than softening a road car for the track.

Power comes from a 5.2 litre naturally aspirated V10 producing 631 hp at 8,000 rpm, driving the rear wheels only through a 7 speed dual clutch gearbox. There is no all wheel drive here, which is a deliberate choice: rear drive keeps the weight down and the balance sharp. It reaches 100 km/h in about 3 seconds and carries on to 310 km/h.

Roughly 75% of the body panels are carbon fibre, and the whole front section lifts as a single piece, a "cofango" that combines the bonnet, wings and bumper the way a race car's does. The rear wing is manually adjustable, the windscreen is 20% thinner than a standard Huracan, and the magnesium wheels can be wrapped in track tyres. Together the aero package generates over 400 kg of downforce at speed.

Riding in an STO is as close as most people will get to a GT3 car with a number plate. Expect a hard edged, unfiltered ride: this car was built to win a one make series, and it never really stopped being that.
