These Terms & Conditions (“Terms”) govern your use of this website and your participation in the Cardel Homes Ride of a Lifetime charity event (“the Event”). By booking a ride or otherwise using this site, you agree to these Terms.
About the organizer
The Event is organized by Cardel Homes. Cardel Homes is not a registered charity. Cardel covers the operating costs of the Event so that 100% of the proceeds from booked rides may be donated to our charity partner, Hope 4 MVC Kids.
Eligibility
- Riders must be at least 14 years old on the day of the Event
- Riders must be at least 4’9″ (145 cm) tall to safely use the seat belt or harness — some vehicles may have stricter requirements, noted on the booking page
- Riders under 18 must have a parent or legal guardian sign the online participation waiver on their behalf before the Event
- Riders must be physically and medically able to participate in a high-speed ride. Pregnant individuals and people with serious back, neck, or heart conditions are advised not to participate
Booking and payment
- All prices are listed in Canadian dollars (CAD) and are inclusive of applicable taxes
- Payment is processed securely by Stripe. We do not see, store, or have access to your credit card information
- Your booking is confirmed only after Stripe authorizes payment. You will receive a confirmation email containing your unique confirmation code and a link to your receipt
- It is your responsibility to enter accurate booking information. We are not liable for missed sessions resulting from incorrect contact details
Cancellations, transfers, and refunds
- Transfer to another rider — free of charge, up to 48 hours before the Event. Email JPrete@cardelhomes.com with the subject “Transfer ride request”, your confirmation code, and the new rider’s name
- Customer-initiated cancellation more than 7 days before the Event — full refund minus a 5% administrative fee (covers Stripe processing costs)
- Customer-initiated cancellation within 7 days of the Event — non-refundable. The booking may still be transferred to another rider up to 48 hours before
- No-shows — non-refundable
- Event-day weather or safety cancellation — if we cancel a session for weather, track conditions, or safety reasons, you will be offered either a full refund or a free transfer to the next year’s Event
Liability waiver
Every person entering Rocky Mountain Motorsports property, riders and spectators alike, must read and sign the liability waiver online before the Event (one form per person). The waiver covers the inherent risks of motorsports activity and confirms that participation is voluntary. Refusal to sign the waiver will result in denied entry to the track with no refund. Photo identification will be required at check-in.
Photography and media release
By attending the Event, you acknowledge that photographs and video may be taken on-site by official Event photographers. By participating, you grant Cardel Homes and our charity partner a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to use these photographs and videos in promotional materials related to the Event and to the participating charity, including print, digital, social media, and broadcast contexts.
If you do not wish to be featured, please notify the photographer on-site or email us in advance at JPrete@cardelhomes.com.
Promo codes
- Promo codes are valid only as specified at issuance and may have expiration dates or per-customer usage limits
- Codes apply to the cart subtotal and reduce the donation portion accordingly
- Promo codes are not redeemable for cash and have no monetary value outside of the Event booking system
- Codes may be revoked at any time for fraud or misuse
Right to cancel or modify the Event
We reserve the right to cancel, postpone, or modify the Event in response to circumstances beyond our reasonable control — including but not limited to weather, track conditions, public-safety advisories, regulatory restrictions, or force majeure events. In such cases, you will be offered either a full refund or a free transfer to the rescheduled or following Event.
Tax receipts
The ride is treated under Canadian tax law as an event experience, not a charitable donation. Your booking is therefore not tax-deductible. If you would like a charitable tax receipt, you may make a separate direct donation to Hope 4 MVC Kids, who will issue a receipt.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by Alberta law, Cardel Homes, Rocky Mountain Motorsports, our charity partner, and our respective directors, employees, and contractors are not liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your participation in the Event, beyond what is provided by the liability waiver. The waiver — not these Terms — is the controlling document for participation-related liability.
This website and its contents are provided “as is.” We make no warranties, express or implied, regarding the accuracy of vehicle availability, schedules, or other Event details. Schedules and vehicle lineups are subject to change.
Intellectual property
All content on this website — including text, photographs, video, logos, and code — is the property of Cardel Homes or its content partners and is protected by Canadian copyright and trademark law. You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works without our written permission, except for personal non-commercial use.
Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Alberta and the federal laws of Canada. Any dispute arising from these Terms or the Event will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Alberta.
Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision. Continued use of the site or participation in future Events constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
